What is your earliest memory in your life? We often casually talk about it. However, it may mean a lot more than expected. A book on psychology I am reading these days says that one's first memories in life might bring to light much of his or her mentality and approach to life. As for me, I remember my mother with a bulged belly kneeled down on the floor in our new house and swept all around with a wet cloth. I seemed to be impressed with her belly sticking out and almost touching the floor. To my surprise, not until then did I form any visualized image of my mother. What was it that made the moment etched on my mind? I was told by my parents that I had always wanted my younger sister as a first son in our family. It may have been the first time I could be sure my younger sister would come along in the near future. It is said that first sons and daughters feel unsecured and in danger when they are met with their younger sibling. They feel urged to do something to make their parents love them all the more although another competitor for it gets in the way. It may have been the first moment it dawned on me that we were not just two of us any longer. I may have felt jealous of a little creature underway.
