1. In recent research on college students' dating habits, studies found that _____________ when it comes to choosing a partner for a casual date. 여기에서 일단 a, c는 본문 내용과 일치하지 않아 걸렀습니다. 문제는 b이냐 d이냐인데요.
저는 d로 했고 답은 b였습니다. 딱히 지문에 however 같은 중요 참조점이 없고 그나마 있는 게 on the other hand인데다, 그 문장에 나온 예시가 women 관련이었기에 d로 했는데, 왜 d는 안 되는 걸까요? b와 큰 의미 차이가 있어 보이지는 않는데 저만의 착각일까요?
2. The Portable Skid Resistance Tester is a piece of equipment that uses a pendulum and a rubber slider to measure the skid resistance of a road surface. The hand-operated tester is popular among some road engineers because it is compact and easy to set up. 일단 이 문제에서도 a, b는 쉽게 거를 수 있었습니다. 문제는 c, d인데요. 답은 c입니다.
해설집에는 도로 조사할 때 도로의 물리적 조성을 알 수 있고, 다른 방식을 사용하는 사람들은 이에 대한 지식이 부족하다고 했으므로, 이를 대체할 수단이 없다고 볼 수 있다, 그러므로 c가 정답이라고 합니다. 하지만 다른 방식을 사용하는 사람들이 그 지식이 부족하다고 해서 대체 수단이 없다고 단정할 수 있을지 확신이 안 섭니다;; ㅜㅜ 어떻게 이해해야 좋을지 모르겠습니다. 그냥 어떻게든 d의 varies widely는 근거가 없으니 소거법으로 d도 자르고 c는 확신이 없어도 찍고 가야 하는 건가요? ㅜㅜ
3. Roman emperor Constantine contributed greatly to the spread of Christianity. He began favoring the Christian church in 312, and within a couple of years the status of Christianity had improved and Christians had become an accepted group. But Constantine was essentially using Christianity as a means of unifying and exercising control over his empire. That is why initially, the Roman Christian church was governed by the state. However, this also ensured its survival, for after Constantine’s death, the church remained an integral part of the Roman empire. Eventually it spread across Europe, and with later empires, across the world.

정답 b. 이 문제를 풀면서 두 가지 생각을 했는데, 하나는 Christianity에 방점을 찍었을 때 정답은 d, Constantine에 방점을 찍었을 때 정답은 b가 된다는 거였습니다. 내용은 Constantine일 수 있겠다 싶었지만, However이 'its survival'을 담고 있어서 이를 포괄적으로 아우르는 선택지인 d를 골랐고, 틀렸습니다. 이 문제야 외웠으니 똑같이 나오면 풀겠지만, 이런 문제에 대한 접근법을 근본적으로 어떻게 개선해야 할지 잘 모르겠습니다. ㅠㅠ 도와주시면 감사하겠습니당...
