EXO Overdoses on Fans’ Love
While the hottest boy bands have been pleasing fans, there’s no doubt that the most popular group is EXO. EXO finally came back with their long awaited mini-album, “Overdose” and have been dominating the stages since.
Previously, EXO kicked off their comeback with the showcase performance called “EXO Comeback Show” at the Jamsil Arena in Seoul packed with 8,000 fans on April 15. During the show, all 12 members of EXO came out and revealed the Korean and Chinese versions of their title track “Overdose.” They also announced that EXO-M was planning to focus on the Chinese market whereas EXO-K would focus on the Korean Market. The letters K and M stand for Korean and Mandarin, which are the languages that the two subgroups are performing in.
The two subgroups were originally set to promote their 2nd mini-album “Overdose” simultaneously in each country starting April 21. However, they pushed back their long awaited comeback due to the Sewol ferry tragedy.
To thank those long waiting fans, each EXO group finally made their comeback on May 7. And they have been sweeping the music charts with “Overdose” in various music programs as well as music charts ever since.
Speaking of their title track “Overdose,” it was created by the hit-maker Kenzie and “The Underdogs” who have also worked with Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and the K-pop girl group, “Girls’ Generation.” The song is a dance song with an R&B and Hip-hop feel to it. Their dance also helps the title track to stand out .
EXO’s concert, which took place May 23 to 25, was sold out completely in less than 30 minutes.
This is not the only time that EXO has surprised the media with their amazing popularity. In fact, last year alone, EXO sold a total of over a million copies of their studio album, “XOXO.”
